The Criminal Courthouse is Closed. They say they don’t have the money to tear it down and rebuild it. They say we must wait two years for the County to renovate the mold-infested Tower of Doom.
The County has the Damn Money to tear the Courthouse down and rebuild it. But rather than doing that, The County Commissioners in their infinite stupidity, would rather spend the money on a pointless historic renovation that serves no immediate purpose. They want to spend over $100 million to renovate the Astrodome.
I hope the Defense Bar, The DAO and the Judiciary vocally express their outrage at this public stupidity and slap in the face.
Commissioners Court has shown that they do not care about the extreme hardships created for everyone involved in the criminal justice system. Maybe it’s time Commissioners Court heard more vocal uproar from those they were hired to serve.
