Friends-“Black Lives Matter” is a Declaration necessitated by the fact for years many in law enforcement acted as if Black Lives didnt matter.
Of course, all lives matter. But timing is everything. When law enforcement responds to ” Black Lives Matter” with “All Lives Matter” or “Blue Lives Matter” there is a dishonesty afoot. These assertions, in response to “Black Lives Matter”, are an attempt to negate the impetus for the Declaration ” Black Lives Matter”. The ” All lives Matter” or “Blue Lives Matter” response, is an attempt to negate the truth that law enforcement has acted as if Black Lives Don’t matter.
” Black Lives Matter” is an important and necessary Declaration. The Declaration is an attempt to change the status quo. Those who attempt to negate this Declaration, in turn seek to perpetuate the status quo. They seek to perpetuate a country where often Black Lives don’t matter; where cops continue to murder young unarmed black teens with impunity.
Too many unarmed Black teens have been murdered by racist cops. Black Lives haven’t mattered. Its time that law enforcement stop the slaughter. Murderous Cops need to be indicted, tried, convicted and sent to prison. “Black Lives Matter” needs to be more than a Declaration.Rather than obscuring the necessity for the Declaration “Black Lives Matter”,those in authority need to work to make the Declaration a reality.
