Robert J. Fickman – The Right Texas Defense Attorney For You

Anyone facing criminal charges needs an attorney. After all, an experienced criminal defense lawyer may be all that stands between you and a prison sentence, heavy fines, or both. It is not enough to find an attorney. Finding the right lawyer to represent you is more important–a lawyer you can trust to get you the best possible outcome.

If you are not convinced that you need an attorney, here are some things to consider.

Only an experienced criminal defense attorney will have an understanding of the criminal justice system that you need to be successful. An experienced criminal defense lawyer, like Robert J. Fickman, knows how to evaluate the facts of a case. He knows how to defend you best. He knows how to pursue a dismissal of your case best. If your case must go to trial, he knows how to best prepare for trial and how to win at trial.

What should you look for in an attorney? Several things.

You should find someone with lengthy ties to the jurisdiction in which you have been charged. This lawyer will have a working knowledge about local procedures and who is in the courthouse. They will know which judges and prosecutors have a reputation for being harsh and unreasonable. They will also know which judges and prosecutors are willing to keep an open mind about each case.

Next, find an experienced criminal defense attorney with a good reputation and a history of success. Do not hire someone who practices criminal defense law part-time or on the side. You want someone who has dedicated their adult life to defending the liberty of those who are accused of criminal offenses. You can and should ask during an initial consultation about the specific experience of that attorney. If you are under investigation or charged with a Federal criminal offense, you want to ensure that the lawyer you hire is an experienced Federal criminal defense attorney. Not all criminal defense lawyers in State Court also practice in Federal Court. Robert J. Fickman has defended individuals in State and Federal court for almost four decades.

Finally, choose a lawyer with whom you feel comfortable. Does the lawyer take the time to answer your questions? Does the lawyer treat you in a mutually respectful manner? You must have a lawyer who speaks to you in a way that makes sense. Make sure you feel comfortable with your representation. You want an attorney who makes you feel like you are a part of the decision-making process in your case. Remember, you are not just a case file. You are a human being, and you deserve to have an attorney who will treat you in a mutually respectful manner.

Experience and Recognition Texans Can Trust

Robert J. Fickman has spent nearly four decades defending the rights of others and preserving their personal liberty. He has compassion for anyone facing criminal charges, and he has honed his skills over the years to defend those facing the most serious state and federal charges.

What kind of experience do you get with Fickman Criminal Defense? Not only do you secure knowledge of criminal defense as a whole – but also extensive experience in the areas of all serious state and federal charges. Robert J. Fickman has tried and won serious state and federal charges. For example, in State court, he has successfully fought Murder, Manslaughter, Sexual Abuse, and Family Violence charges. In Federal Court, he has successfully fought Drug Conspiracy and International Kidnapping charges. He has defended individuals accused of almost every imaginable state and federal crime.

In addition to his extensive experience, he is also a frequent lecturer. He has spoken at seminars on subjects including “Pre-trial Investigation,” “Trial Tactics,” and “Cross Examination of Snitches.” In 2010, 2014, and 2022, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers invited Robert Fickman to speak at their annual Drug Defense Seminar on the topic of “Cross Examining Snitches.”

Robert J. Fickman has served as President of the Harris County Criminal Lawyers Association. He is well-known for his advocacy against abusive judges and for justice. He led the defense bar in protests at City Hall, Commissioners Court, and Metro, as well as in courts in other jurisdictions where injustices were occurring. For his volunteer work, Robert J. Fickman has received numerous awards and recognition from his fellow bar members.

Robert J. Fickman believes that almost anything can be achieved with enough hard work. Although he was raised in West Texas, where there were no mountains, he decided to start mountain climbing. He summited mountains across North America, including Mt. Rainier, Shasta, and Denali. That shows a strength of character and perseverance that you simply cannot find in just any attorney. He will put this same willpower and tenacity to work for you.
